Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Shayan Mehdi, LMFT

My journey into therapy began long before I ever held a license. It began in the quiet grief of losing my mother to cancer, in the pain of living under an oppressive regime, and in the spiritual awakening of a near-death experience. Through each test, I returned to a central truth in Islam: with hardship comes ease.

I now walk beside others as they navigate their own hardships—with the belief that each soul was created with light (nur), and our healing is often a journey back to that original fitrah.

My approach blends clinical expertise with the wisdom of our deen: mindfulness, presence, gratitude, and remembrance (dhikr).

"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest."
"أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ"

Surah Ar-Ra’d (13:28)

Meditations & Resources

In a world that often weighs heavily on the heart, Islamic therapy offers a sacred space to reconnect—with yourself, with purpose, and most importantly, with Allah. Through faith-based counseling, we heal not just the mind, but also the soul, restoring balance and inner peace through the wisdom of the Qur'an and Ahlul Bayt."

Islamic therapy reminds us that even the prophets experienced sadness, anxiety, and hardship—yet they turned to Allah with hope, patience, and trust.
